Grounding is a way of remembering that we are supported by the earth, always. In the purest sense, grounding is really a way of coming out of the machinations and imaginations of the mind.
If you find yourself in a situation where the body is at rest and the mind becomes louder and more demanding, a skillful practice is not to attempt to quiet the mind or push the thoughts away.
During such times, redirecting the mind towards feeling or imaging support can be a very effective practice. The root of feeling grounded is to rest on the earth. We’ll explore several ways of grounding this week in our meditation groups.
Remember we are now offering the Thursday Noon Meditation as well as the Wednesday 6 pm Meditation. Two opportunities each week – pick one or try them both!
