The most important component in meditation, I believe, is practice. Over my many years of study, I have learned innumerable techniques to calm my nervous system. These techniques are absolutely useless, however, unless I practice them. This week in our Meditation Groups we'll revisit the practice of Mindfulness and one of my favorite approaches to this skill.
Some yogis at Kripalu, my spiritual home, years ago developed an easy way to remember to use the skills of Mindfulness in the moments we need them the most. These skills are summed up in the acronym BRFWA: Breathe, Relax, Feel, Watch & Allow.
We'll dive into each of these
components in detail.
