I don't know about you, but keeping my heart open, toward myself and others, seems to be a full time job right now! We'll do more heart practices this week to work on softening and opening together.
Also, we'll revisit one of my favorite tools - "Finger Holding," from the discipline of Jin Shin Jyutsu. I actually do this often as I'm going to sleep or when I need help dealing with an emotion. There are so many nerve endings in the hands and fingers and just loosely holding a finger can be intensely soothing and comforting.
Try it: hold one finger with the opposite hand and breathe... Don't grip, just hold it loosely... spend as long as you like. Look to the graphic below to decide which finger you want to hold, or spend one or two minutes with each finger in turn.
Acronym to decide which finger to hold: Get rid of Worry FAST
Thumb: Worry
Index Finger: Fear
Middle Finger: Anger
Ring Finger: Sadness
Pinkie Finger: Trying too hard (Over-efforting)
