This season of Autumn is a time of change and release. The last few years of our lives have been all about releasing old ideas, habits, and ways of life. We are all of us, collectively, being transformed in ways we never thought possible.
All of this change,
release and transformation can leave us feeling uprooted and ungrounded. I know that’s how I’m feeling. This week, I’d like to share and practice some of the most potent tools which are helpful to me right now.
You may like to gather some props in advance to make your practice more
comfortable. I recommend having a folding chair, or any chair on which you can prop your legs as illustrated by the photo below. Perhaps also have on hand several blankets which you can put under your body for extra comfort as well as cover your body for warmth.
Legs up the chair is one of my favorite yoga practices. So simple, yet incredibly powerful. This pose relieves anxiety, enhances digestion and circulation, relieves low back pain and helps you sleep.
We'll end our Wednesday evening practice with this pose. You can lie on a yoga mat, the floor or a comfy blanket. If lying on the floor is not an option for you, please know you can bring a folding chair or several thick couch cushions or pillows on to your bed and practice comfortably in your bed.
