This Thursday, September 21, is the International Day of Peace. Established in 1981 by the
United Nations General Assembly, the International Day of Peace was created to strengthen the ideals of peace by observing 24 hours of non-violence and cease-fire throughout the world. The theme for the 2023 observance is “Actions for peace: Our ambition for the #GlobalGoals.” It is a push for us to recognize how our individual and collective actions can affect and foster global peace.
So this week in our Meditation Groups we will continue to focus on building more peace within ourselves and our community. We'll revisit one of our favorite chants (listed below.)
Peace begins with you: with how you face yourself each day and how you face
the world each day. Join us to make a difference in our own lives and in our collective.
lokah samastah sukhino bhavantu

free
and may my thoughts, words and actions contribute in some way toward that happiness and freedom for all."
