Hi, ,
"The word “distraction” becomes a spiritual word. People don’t think of it that way, but deep spirituality deals with distractions. That’s what it’s all about.
If you weren’t distracted by your emotions, distracted by your thoughts, or distracted by the outside world, you’d be sitting in utter peace and flow and bliss (all of the time.)
If there were no distractions, the consciousness would be able to come back into its source, and that is very deep. The source of consciousness is not human. It’s divine. It’s
universal."
~ Michael Singer in his book, “Living Untethered: Beyond the Human Predicament.”
Michael Singer also talks about how we often say, "I can't handle this!" As a result, he says his favorite mantra now is, “I can handle this!” I have found
that reciting this mantra as often as I remember, starts to replace all of my habitual thoughts of, “This is too much, too crazy, I can’t do this, etc.”
We'll continue this discussion and explore some more of Michael Singer's favorite tools, which I find useful and fascinating. Please join us – I believe these are kind, gentle and easy ways to begin to
reprogram our “closed-loop” minds.
