A young man once asked a wise monk,
“How can I be happy when there is so much wrong in the world?”
This was the monk’s response…
“What you repeat to yourself becomes a fulfilled promise. If you search for what is wrong in the world, you will certainly find it.
The opposite is also true. If you search for what is right in the world, you will find that
too.
Many deny themselves the ability to see the good and beauty in the world out of anger, bitterness, or a sense of righteousness.
But what good does your stress do for the afflicted? Does your anxiety heal the sick? Does your anger clothe the needy?
I challenge you honestly—if you truly believe there is no light left in the world, then you must become it.
Be someone’s reason to smile. Be the reason someone feels grateful. Be the reason someone believes there is still good in this world.
For as long as there are human beings, there will always be love, goodness, and reasons to be happy on this Earth.
Remember—whatever you seek, you will find. And making yourself miserable serves no purpose. Instead, choose to be a light… a beacon of joy for others. This is the way.”
