Hi ,
"There’s a Name for the Blah You’re Feeling: It’s Called Languishing"
This is the title of an article I read recently in the New York Times. This article talks about the fact that languishing is somewhere between being depressed and flourishing. It's often marked by having trouble concentrating and perhaps also having trouble feeling fully joyful about anything. It goes on to
say:
"Languishing is a sense of stagnation and emptiness. It feels as if you’re muddling through your days, looking at your life through a foggy windshield. And it might be the dominant emotion of
2021."
The prescription for this malaise? Learning to name and honor all emotions. Also, practicing being "in the flow" of something which truly draws you in. So we'll practice some of that in our meditations this week.
