Hi ,
Last week we talked about the stories the mind makes up – and we often believe them.
“Our brains reward us with dopamine when we recognize and complete patterns. Stories are patterns. The brain recognizes the familiar beginning-middle-end structure of a story and rewards us by clearing up the ambiguity. Unfortunately, we don’t have to be accurate, just certain.” ~ Brene Brown
This week we’ll do some practices to return to the current moment and the breath and out of the patterns of our most familiar stories. Mindfulness practices evolve the brain so that we more often make more conscious choices. Mindfulness keeps us from repeating historic responses.
